center;\">PRESENT: 2025-26<\/h2>\n<p>In <strong>2025<\/strong>, I\u00f1aki organized the racing season aboard the TP 52 \u201cUrbania\u201d as sports and tactical manager, achieving significant results in the National Cruising Circuit (Circuito Nacional de Cruceros).<\/p>\n<p>He also managed the participation of the Shipman 72 \u201cCaiarossa\u201d in the Rolex Middle Sea Race, as well as the Swan 56 \u201cIntrigue\u201d in the Trofeo Golden Cup in Barcelona and the launch of the DK46 based in Sotogrande, which won the <strong>Trofeo de Marina de Sotogrande and the Vuelta a la Costa del Sol with a crew of two members.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With a view to the <strong>2026<\/strong> season, Casta\u00f1er is preparing to participate in the most prestigious competitions such as the <strong>ORC World Championship<\/strong> aboard the TP 52 Urbania, the Campeonato del Mediterr\u00e1neo, the Kings Cup in Palma, and the Rolex Swan Cup in Porto Cervo aboard the Swan 56 \u201cIntrigue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Currently, outside of the racing season, he manages his company <strong>I. Casta\u00f1er Yachts<\/strong>, which is specialized in the sale and purchase of sailing boats. During <strong data-start=\"543\" data-end=\"560\">1987 and 1988<\/strong>, he was hired by the Spanish Navy as a civilian, responsible for the <strong data-start=\"630\" data-end=\"707\">construction and preparation of the first Spanish Maxi in regatta history<\/strong>, known as <strong data-start=\"718\" data-end=\"730\">Hispania<\/strong>. In <strong data-start=\"735\" data-end=\"743\">1989<\/strong>, he was selected by the company <strong data-start=\"776\" data-end=\"790\">Tabacalera<\/strong> to join the crew representing Spain aboard the <strong data-start=\"838\" data-end=\"854\">Maxi Fortuna<\/strong> in the <strong data-start=\"862\" data-end=\"894\">Round the World Sailing Race<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"897\" data-end=\"1659\">Between <strong data-start=\"905\" data-end=\"922\">1990 and 1992<\/strong>, I\u00f1aki Casta\u00f1er sailed aboard <strong data-start=\"953\" data-end=\"963\">Brib\u00f3n<\/strong>, helmed by <strong data-start=\"975\" data-end=\"1009\">His Majesty King Juan Carlos I<\/strong>, achieving <strong data-start=\"1021\" data-end=\"1056\">two Copa del Rey de Vela titles<\/strong>. In <strong data-start=\"1061\" data-end=\"1069\">1990<\/strong>, acting as the person in charge of the Danish yacht <strong data-start=\"1122\" data-end=\"1130\">Lone<\/strong>, he achieved <strong data-start=\"1144\" data-end=\"1191\">first place in the \u00be Ton World Championship<\/strong> and won the <strong data-start=\"1204\" data-end=\"1227\">Copa del Rey Trophy<\/strong>. During <strong data-start=\"1236\" data-end=\"1259\">1991, 1992 and 1993<\/strong>, he won the <strong data-start=\"1272\" data-end=\"1301\">\u00be Ton World Championships<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"1310\" data-end=\"1338\">\u00bd Ton World Championship<\/strong> aboard <strong data-start=\"1346\" data-end=\"1358\">Mar Fr\u00edo<\/strong> in <strong data-start=\"1362\" data-end=\"1371\">Italy<\/strong>. From <strong data-start=\"1378\" data-end=\"1394\">1991 to 1995<\/strong>, I\u00f1aki Casta\u00f1er was responsible for establishing the bases and teams of Spain\u2019s first <strong data-start=\"1481\" data-end=\"1513\">America\u2019s Cup participations<\/strong>, serving as <strong data-start=\"1526\" data-end=\"1566\">crew coordinator and foredeck leader<\/strong> aboard <strong data-start=\"1574\" data-end=\"1587\">Espa\u00f1a 92<\/strong> in <strong data-start=\"1591\" data-end=\"1599\">1992<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1604\" data-end=\"1623\">Rioja de Espa\u00f1a<\/strong> in <strong data-start=\"1627\" data-end=\"1635\">1995<\/strong> in <strong data-start=\"1639\" data-end=\"1658\">San Diego (USA)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1661\" data-end=\"3088\">From <strong data-start=\"1666\" data-end=\"1682\">1993 onwards<\/strong>, after completing the <strong data-start=\"1705\" data-end=\"1722\">European Tour<\/strong> aboard <strong data-start=\"1730\" data-end=\"1744\">Galicia 93<\/strong>, he began organizing his own projects as <strong data-start=\"1786\" data-end=\"1817\">skipper and sports director<\/strong>. Between <strong data-start=\"1827\" data-end=\"1844\">2000 and 2008<\/strong>, I\u00f1aki Casta\u00f1er coordinated the <strong data-start=\"1877\" data-end=\"1932\">construction and management of his 14 racing yachts<\/strong>, and from <strong data-start=\"1943\" data-end=\"1959\">2006 to 2009<\/strong> he managed and competed, together with his sponsor <strong data-start=\"2011\" data-end=\"2018\">ONO<\/strong> (<strong data-start=\"2020\" data-end=\"2049\">nine years of sponsorship<\/strong>), as <strong data-start=\"2055\" data-end=\"2086\">skipper and sports director<\/strong> in the world\u2019s most important regatta circuit, the <strong data-start=\"2138\" data-end=\"2149\">MED CUP<\/strong>, aboard the <strong data-start=\"2162\" data-end=\"2176\">TP52 \u201cONO\u201d<\/strong>. From <strong data-start=\"2183\" data-end=\"2199\">2009 onwards<\/strong>, Casta\u00f1er was responsible for organizing and managing <strong data-start=\"2254\" data-end=\"2279\">British sailing teams<\/strong> in international circuits such as <strong data-start=\"2314\" data-end=\"2341\">GBR Peninsula Petroleum<\/strong> (GP42 and RC44) and <strong data-start=\"2362\" data-end=\"2371\">Aegir<\/strong> (Mini Maxi). In both teams, Casta\u00f1er held the position of <strong data-start=\"2430\" data-end=\"2449\">sports director<\/strong>, as well as <strong data-start=\"2462\" data-end=\"2487\">tactician and skipper<\/strong> in the <strong data-start=\"2495\" data-end=\"2509\">Match Race<\/strong> discipline. During the <strong data-start=\"2533\" data-end=\"2558\">2013 and 2014 seasons<\/strong>, he achieved victories in the most important regattas on the <strong data-start=\"2620\" data-end=\"2660\">Spanish and South American calendars<\/strong>, highlighting his <strong data-start=\"2679\" data-end=\"2705\">first place as skipper<\/strong> aboard the <strong data-start=\"2717\" data-end=\"2739\">Soto 40 \u201cApolonia\u201d<\/strong> in one of South America\u2019s most prestigious regattas, <strong data-start=\"2793\" data-end=\"2803\">Chilo\u00e9<\/strong>, in <strong data-start=\"2808\" data-end=\"2829\">Chilean Patagonia<\/strong>, as well as his <strong data-start=\"2846\" data-end=\"2894\">third place in the ORC European Championship<\/strong> in the waters of <strong data-start=\"2912\" data-end=\"2924\">Valencia<\/strong>.
